A Post

In which the travelers confine themselves to their room

We woke up at the normal times (8:10 for Ric, 10:10 for Gin), but due to the Indian curry of last night’s dinner, we found a predilection for the comfort and privacy of our hotel room. As I write this, at 11:45am, Gin and I are laying in bed discussing a schedule for bathroom visitation rights. Groan.

Later this morning, after the poisonous curry had passed, we ventured out to find breakfast and buy our bus tickets out of here. Our next stop is Hoi An, the legendary town of tailors and cobblers (not peaches, shoes). We’ll have some clothes made there. Where not exactly sure what kind of clothes, but probably mostly dressier work clothes. The restaurant where we had breakfast is also a small bookstore, so we perused the shelves since Gin is almost finished all her books again. Most of the collection was disappointing, but we did find an interesting book about Chinese culture and traditions. It was only $3, so we bought it, and hope to gain some insights about our future home from it.

Bus tickets and breakfast squared away we considered heading to the beach, but our tummies were feeling grumbly again, so we went back to our room instead to relax in proximity to a toilet. We were reading quietly until a huge thunderstorm rolled into Nha Trang and interrupted us. We ran out onto the hotel balcony (where we were safely dry) and watched people fleeing down the street in search of shelter.

When the storm finally stopped we headed out for dinner, back to Guava where we had eaten a few days earlier. We weren’t taking any risks with Indian restaurants tonight!
